Hello hello!! This has been a very exciting time for The Pineapple Stitchery.  If you didn’t catch the great article published in The Cape gazette, here is the link .  Thank you sew much or Deny Howeth for the lovely write up and photos!

I am filling up my calendar for October and November and looking forward to some fun events!  If you would like to set something up for you group please email me as soon as possible.

First up is theHabitit for Humanity ReStore Marketplace on RT. 9 in Lewes, DE on October 21st 8am.  I will have some great sales going on so come by and stock up for you holiday sewing!

On November 4th I am heading to Columbia, MD and setting up a pop-up shop for the BaltimoreMQG Retreat.  No camper, but I will still have all of my amazing inventory with me, including batting which I don’t typically have on hand.

Tentative- November 25th Sip and Shop in Dewey  Beach.  I just submitted my application, so this is just penciled in for now

i have decided to closedown the camper for the winter starting just before Christmas.  I will still have my onLine shop open, out the actual camper will be winterized.  I am planning to reopen in April after the great of snow is past.  I am still going to be available for pop-up shops during hose months, but I will be setting up booth style.

I am still considering an improv block of the month.  It would begin in December and run for 12 months.  If you are interested in his please leave a comment below and I will make sure your name is added to the list.

shoo!! That’s a lot of information!!

Upcoming Events for The Pineapple Stitchery!

Oh my goodness!  So many things coming up!!  I have been busy busy getting some fun events on the calendar and I am really excited to share them with you.

First up, I will be a vendor on August 19th at the  Habitat For Humanity ReStore Marketplace.  My friend Michelle will be joining me with her Noonday jewelry.  (All fair trade, artisan made AND GORGEOUS!!)  Make sure if you are in Lewes, DE you stop by and say hello!  Marketplace opens at 10am and is located on Rt. 9 in Lewes.

I am also participating in the October ReStore Marketplace, so stay tuned for that date.

My good friend, Charlene, contacted me the other day asking if I would be interested in joining her for the Clicks for Babies hat knitting event.  I am not a knitter, but I was so excited I said OF COURSE!!  So, I am currently putting together a knitting day to make Purple Hats. I will be getting in a variety of purple yarns that will be available for free to anyone who comes to knit and will also include the pattern needed.  We will be doing this in mid-September in order to ship by Sept 30.  October is Shaken Baby Syndrome Awareness month.

Finally, I have been dreaming up a really fun BOM program for 2018.  “The Modern Improv BOM” will be a 13 month program beginning December 1, 2017 with the quilt top finishing instructions being released December 1, 2018.  This will be a really fun, unique BOM program in that I will not be releasing a pattern but an Inspiration Photo.  The challenge is to create a 12 1/2″ unfinished improvisational pieced block inspired by the photo provided.  Each quilt will end up being 100% unique.  Don’t you love the idea of minimal instructions!!  This is meant to be super fun, no stress.  I will be creating a separate blog post with a full description and sign-up form.  This will be a FREE BOM!!!

Wowza, I think that’s all for now!!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Quilt Show and Other Fun Things!

Last week I participated in the Ocean Waves Quilt Show in Lewes, Delaware.  Not only did I have a quilt in the show {I’m Not Even A Cat Person}, but I was also a vendor.

Being a vendor was such an awesome experience.  I cannot express in words how truly overwhelmed and humbled I am from the outpouring of support I received at my first show.  You all blew me away with your kind words and excitement.  I took lots of photos to share with you.  If you follow me on Facebook you have already seen them, but I wanted to share them again here with you.

I am so excited to do more shows so if you are a member of a group putting anything together in the future please put me on your contact list.  I would love to join you!  And remember, I am available to come to you for pop-up shops, so email or call me to set up something fun! stacy.hennigan@gmail.com or 484-716-6508

Special shout out to my amazing Uncle Tim for all of your help!  I loved working with you, even though we about melted in the heat 🙂  Love you bushels!!!!

****In other exciting news, I have upgraded my site, so stay tuned for some fun new things coming in the next month.  I am planning to upload my inventory for online purchase as well as beginning a monthly newsletter (since both kiddos will be in school for a bit I will have time for writing!!!)****

Thank you all again!!

Painted and Ready for Flooring!

The camper is painted, inside and out!!  And boy is she a beauty!  I went with a similar color palate to the original for the exterior as I wanted to keep the charm intact, however, that Gold had to go!  I decided on Forsynthia Blossom from Olympic Paint and a basic white.  I could not be happier with the final outcome!

So many choices!!!

For the interior I used a pre-mixed white from Valspar.  I guess its a commonly used color and it is so perfect!  Its bright, fresh, and will definitely make the inventory pop!  We did bead board on all of the walls to give it a soft cottage feel.  I haven’t taken any photos yet, but my husband is installing the floor on Saturday and I will take interior shots then!

In the mean time, here are some face lift photos of the exterior of The Pineapple Stitchery for you to oohhh and aaahhh over!

Painting has Begun!

Wow!  It seems like forever since I gave a blog update on our camper reno.  A lot has gone on in the months since we last met.  My husband has been working so hard to get The Pineapple Stitchery ready, but also getting back to his business as a landscaper.  Its been a juggling act, but we are getting there.  I spent yesterday using a spray gun!  That was super fun, a little windy so I was covered in paint, but the results are incredible!  What a difference a coat of fresh paint makes.

Its chilly and off and on drizzly here today so no more painting for right now, but first thing tomorrow morning I will be out side getting a second coat of white on and starting to paint the yellow strips with a fresh, fun shade of yellow.  Bye bye tacky gold!!

First coat of paint!!

This past weekend we took a little time to get back in the camper. We finished gutting, repaired a hole in the floor where the bathroom used to be, and began rewiring the electrical!! We also purchased insulation, so as soon as the wiring is finished we can get the chill out of the interior.

Trip to Lowes and hard work!

Later today w have big plans to head back to Lowes!!

I hope you are enjoying watching our progress as much as we enjoy sharing it with you!! We are right on track for our April 2017 opening!!

Gutting the Frolic

The ride home from Virginia did not go well.  Thank goodness my uncle was with me because we ended up half-stranded on the side of I95 waiting for roadside assistance for 4 hours.  We were able to travel, very slowly, 2 miles up 95 to Ladysmith Tire and Auto where they had to keep the camper for about 4 weeks trying to find tires and fittings, only to end up completely rebuilding the axel.  Geeze!!

Now my baby is back in Delaware ready for a facelift and a new, exciting life as a Mobile Fabric Boutique.

Driving over the scariest bridge in history on our way home from VA.

I wish I could say I did it, but, alas, my stud muffin hubby got to work tearing out all of the original fixtures, cabinets, walls and ceiling.  I did help…a little.  I am so great at sweeping up debris lol.

The stud muffin

Anyway, at this point we are almost finished tearing the walls out.  I am leaving the “bunk beds” to use as shelving and also leaving the table at built in benches.  My hubby is going to build me an extended table topper so I can have a cutting area.  We are going to do bead board on the walls and the whole inside will be a bright, clean white.  I am planning to paint the exterior white and touch up the golden areas with a soft yellow.  I would also like to add a retractable awning (yellow and white stripe of course!) and chalkboard paint the inside of the door.  I plan to install a solar panel so there will be no need for an electrical hook up when I travel.

Sink and oven are for sale!! If interested please email stacy.hennigan@gmail.com with offer.  Located in Southern DE.

I am so excited for this to come together and I hope you will be here to see it all come together.  If you have any questions or would like to book The Pineapple Stitchery for a guild meeting, retreat, ect. please visit the Contact page of the website.  I would love to hear from you!
